The This ‘R Nothing Technique!

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

One of my favorite techniques in Tamed is the This ‘r Nothing technique. This was the first technique I created and tested before writing the book and would probably attribute having been able to write the book because of this one technique.

Here’s how it works:

Choose a task you want to complete. Give yourself a certain time frame to fully focus on this one task (30 minutes to one hour) but here’s the catch-- no distractions allowed!  If you don’t feel the urge to engage on this task, you will do nothing… absolutely nothing. You will not check your emails, clean your inbox, browse the web….. nothing.

The moment you force yourself to do something important, your Dark Horse will rear, buck, and protest. By doing nothing you are telling it that you will not succumb to its capricious ways. You will also notice that a couple of seconds doing nothing is quite awkward so you’ll soon want to get busy instead.

And if you haven’t tried it yet, trance music is great at keeping the Dark horse focused during the This 'r Nothing exercise.

Before I leave, today’s trance tune is

Title: Irminsul Le Pilier Du Monde; Artist: Damabiah; Album: Le Sang et la Sève: Spotify Link:

(Focus Alert: this is THE one tune that gets me most focused on any writing project)

I select the tunes that will make you productive so you don’t have to.
